Meet the Committee
President - David Owen
Dave has been involved at Spondon CC for many years in many different guises. Dave has played for the club and watched and supported his children who both grew up at club playing cricket. Dave played a major role in deleveloping youth cricket at the club and expanding the size of the club by encouraging the installation of a 3rd XI.
Dave has coached a number of the junior sides and still passes on his wealth of knowledge about the game.
Chairmen - Neil Kellogg
Neil is starting his 3rd term as chairmen after his election in 2009 and has been involved with the club for a long time as a player, supporter and now an elected member of the excuetive committee. Neil has previously held the role of Junior chair of cricket and Chairmen of cricket before taking on the role of chairing the club. Neil is seen down at the ground at all hours of the day and night always doing something from cleaning to applying for grants no job is too big or small. His enthusisam for making the club a welcoming place for all its members is there for all to see. On the field he has determination to promote home grown players by supporting the junior section to secure the clubs long term playing future whilst making the current teams as successful as possible. Since taking over he has encouraged players/supporters /members to have a open forum to raise their views and has established a number of forums to allow the club members to be fully aware of the clubs direction.

Steve moved to the club from West Hallam and still turns out for the clubs 3rd XI. Steve has managed the clubs finances since 2009 which is no mean feet due to the size of the club particularly since its move from Royal Hill Rd to its new ground on Locko Rd. Steve has does a wonderful job in keeping the running costs at an affordable manner for its membership which is a thankless task.
Secretary - Kath Green
Kath took over the role as club secretary after long time secreatry Kevin Hibbert stepped down from the post in 2010. Kath has worked tirelessly to promote the club in the local community since undertaking the role.
Kath was at the forefront of the clubs green environment developments in 2011 which saw the club install solar panels at their Locko Rd ground securing grants to make sure the project was a success.
Chairmen of Cricket - Sam Kellogg
Sam took over the role from Kevin Bunting for the start of the 2011 season to work closely with the 1st XI. Sam also developed the 5th Team which played in a Sunday league into a development team giving games to younster who have not played senior cricket. Sam see the developemnt of the youngsters as an intergral part of the long term future of this club and wants to make sure the current crop of talented young players have a pathway to move through the club just like he and many of his 1st XI teammantes did. Sam chairs the selection committee and sits on the club execuetive committee.
Chair of Junior Cricket - Sarah Bunting
Sarah has been in post since the winter of 2008 where she replaced the now Club Chairmen Neil Kellogg. Sarah has seen the junior section of the club develop in size, so much so that the club had 4 U13 teams in 2011. Sarah supports and co-ordinates the clubs numerous coaches and huge volunteer workforce to maintain the junior training and competition framework. The club boast a flourishing Girls section and see a girl only team compete in age group cricket. Sarah also sits on the community and league committee's for junior cricket and co-ordinates the coach education programme for the clubs volunteers.

Child Welfare Officer - Kim Baker
Kim has long been involved in the club as a cricket widow following her husband (and groundsmen) to games for many years and supporting her children through the clubs junior section. Although Kim's title is child welfare officer Kim supports many other aspects of the club. In her role as welfare officer Kim oversees all the safeguarding issues and policies within the club co-ordinating the CRB for all of its relevant coaches, captains and volunteers

Spondon Cricket Club Is Now Generating Electricity
On September 22nd we switched on 18 Solar PV panels installed on our roof. We are now generating our own electricity using a renewable energy source, helping to reduce the cost of our electricity and reduce our carbon footprint in the community.
