Spondon Cricket Club Is Now Generating Electricity
Digital Display (see Solar PV in photo gallery)
We have a large digital display board in the pavilion, which is showing the following data
- How many watts the system is yielding at that particular time per hour
- The Carbon Dioxide savings in kilograms.
- The accumulative total units of electricity created.
The Benefits of Solar Electricity
- Cut your carbon footprint: solar electricity is green, a renewable energy and doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide (CO2) or other pollutants. A typical PV system could save around 1tonne of CO2 per year - that's around 25 tonnes over its lifetime.
- Cut your electricity bills: sunlight is free, so once you've paid for the initial installation your electricity costs will be greatly reduced. An average PV system can produce around 40% of the electricity that you use in a year.
- Sell electricity back to the Grid: if your system is producing more electricity than you need, or when you can't use it, someone else can use it.
Spondon Cricket Club Is Now Generating Electricity
On September 22nd we switched on 18 Solar PV panels installed on our roof. We are now generating our own electricity using a renewable energy source, helping to reduce the cost of our electricity and reduce our carbon footprint in the community.
